After teaching the lesson in whole group, following a gradual release of responsibility model, Cassie reiterated the lesson outcomes in small group. The first part of the article presented challenges for students in distinguishing key details from interesting facts, so she shifted the lesson focus to the last paragraph which was a little more straighforward.
