Poetry and Float

Poetry test

Students were given a packet today that is due Wed. Feb. 22.  It is a very easy review of the elements of poetry we have been studying. In addition students can study pages 550 to 555 in their texts at home and handouts given in class.

Book Parade

Our book parade will be on Feb. 27.

Because of an event in the media center that was scheduled for us for next week, I am allowing students to complete the platform portion of their floats at home.  When the shoe box is turned upside down the bottom of the shoe box becomes the platform.  Students are to create a scene from their books on the platforms. Boxes can  be spray painted or covered in tissue or wrapping paper –even duct tape.

We will be in the computer lab printing out the paragraphs that go on the back of the float and the slides that go on the front of the float.

.

Please do not feel pressured to spend more than a few dollars on items to complete the  float.  As a matter of fact, they can be nicely  done with markers and paper as is  the one on display in my classroom.
