Monday, April 30th

Today’s Agenda & Assignments:

  • If applicable to you, turn in any course selection change requests to me or Mrs. Butz. These are due today.
  • Read Act 3, Scene 2, pages 84-96. If you were absent today, see the blog for today’s annotations/discussion points.
  • Complete this blocking activity: 3.2 read and sketch

Tonight’s Homework:

  • If you were on the trip last week, you need to make up your reading quiz tomorrow morning.
  • Our next reading quiz is this Wednesday.
  • Remember, we go to OMHS to see the play this Friday.

Tuesday, May 1st

Today’s Agenda & Assignments:

  • Watch part of Act 3, Scene 2. If you were absent, read through pages 96-110 in order to understand what is going on.
  • Reread and circle any insults you see on pages 106 and 108
  • Write script inspired by Helena and Hermia’s “girl fight.” If you were absent today, you will need to make this up. Directions below.
    • Use pages 106 and 108 as inspiration for your script.
    • Requirements:
      • Why Hermia and Helena are fighting
      • Insults about height
      • Everyday language
      • Blocking/stage directions as they talk
      • Only about ½ page to 1 page long

Tonight’s Homework:

  • Our next reading quiz is this Wednesday. It will cover pages 66-110.
  • Remember, we go to OMHS to see the play this Friday.

Wednesday, May 2nd

Today’s Agenda & Assignments:

  • Take reading quiz on pages 66-110. Grade in class. If you were absent today, you will have to make up this quiz.
  • Read pages 111-121 (right side). Watch end of Act 3 as well. See blog page for annotations.
  • Create our own Shakespearean insults! If you were absent today, you do not have to make this up (but you can if you want to!)

Thursday, May 3rd

Today’s Agenda & Assignments:

  • Finish reading/watching the play. If you were absent, you will need to read all of Acts 4 and 5. See blog page for annotations.
  • On a blank sheet of paper, divide it into 4 sections. Label the quadrants as the following: The Adults, The Fairies, The Athenians, and The Players. In each section, list how each of these subplots wrap up at the end of the play, what happens to these characters, how conflicts resolve, etc.

Tonight’s Homework:

  • Remember, we go to OMHS to see the play this Friday. Know your bus number.
