Flu/sick/away from school

I know that many of you are sick, have the swine flu, have some other virus, or are away from school for other reasons. I hope you feel better soon if you are sick. Please try to keep up with the notes and work if possible. This is not for my benefit but for your benefit. Who would want to come back to school with 4 or 5 days worth of homework in every class? You should be able to do the math work if you read the notes and understand them. If you have a question, do not hesitate to post it on the blog and I will respond as soon as I am able. Be sure to check the blog after you post to see my response. I edit your posts and attach my response to the bottom before posting it for the world to see. If that doesn’t work, email me at cburdett@shelbyed.k12.al.us and I will respond as soon as possible.

Daily Notes

Every day that I teach a lesson, I post the notes from that lesson and any worksheets on this blog. They can be found under either the Math 7 link or the Pre Algebra link at the top of the blog. I try to post them during the day for students who are not at school. If not, they will be posted at 3:00.

Class Supplies

For my class students will need to bring 1 compsition notebook, 2 green pens to turn in, 1 pack of looseleaf paper to turn in, 1 box of tissues to turn in, and a pencil to write with. Students turning in all of the supplies will receive a recognition notice.

Monday we will review the syllabus for my class. Parents can read it here Class Procedures.

Students will be issued textbooks on Tuesday which can be kept at home because we have class copies of the textbook. Workbooks have been ordered and will be issued when they arrive.

Welcome to 7th Grade!!!

Welcome to the 7th grade Blue Team. I look forward to a successful and productive year. I plan to use the blog more this year to stay in touch with the students. I post my class notes and any worksheets daily and post my homework weekly on the blog. I make every attempt to keep it up to date. Because I am one of the OMMS baseball coaches, this year I plan to create an area of the blog devoted to the OMMS baseball team. Also this year, in an attempt to reduce the number of copies I use, I will be using the blog to post review worksheets, multiple choice test style reviews, and other work that would normally be copied. I am available almost every morning before school from 7:20 to 7:50 and I will be posting a pass to my classroom that students can print. I look forward to staying in touch with students so feel free to post replies. All replies must be approved by me before they post so I will not approve any “Hey Mr. Burdett” posts. This is for OMMS, Blue Team, Baseball and classroom stuff so keep all posts related to that. See you Thursday. CB
