Letter from Principal Harper

September 29
Dear Chelsea Middle School Community,
After more than 4 decades in public education, the last 20 as a principal, I am retiring from Shelby County. In the last few weeks it has become apparent that I need to restructure my priorities around my family, health, and completing my dissertation.
This has been a very difficult decision for several reasons—the most important because of the tremendous sense of belonging that I feel for Chelsea Middle, the Chelsea community, and the incredible support parents have given the school. I know this will continue.
I leave with a sense of pride in the accomplishments of our students and staff. Chelsea Middle School students compete favorably against the best schools and students in the state. Superintendent Fuller and his staff will do their part to provide strong leadership for Chelsea Middle School so that a tradition of excellence continues.
Bill
