All registration packets need to be turned in to the office ASAP

Attention 8th – 10th grade girls, Alabama Power is sponsoring a summer event called ‘Girls Can’ Construction Camp which will be held June 6th -10th. This is a hands-on camp featuring welding, carpentry, electrical and other construction specialties. ‘Girls Can’ camp is a great chance to learn a new set of skills and make new friends. This year, you will be building an Adirondack chair, a sprinkler, an industrial-style lamp, and welding metals together to form a piece of art. You will be working side by side with professional women in completing your projects and meeting women who do some pretty amazing things in their jobs. Pick up an application from your counselor, complete it, and return it to your counselor. Application deadline is April 29th. Make this summer one to remember and don’t miss this great opportunity. We have created a Google Classroom for 6th and 7th grade girls interested in trying out for Volleyball, please get the code from the blog so you can join the class. Tryout Packets have been shared through the Google Classroom, print your own or get one from Coach J. Cook on the 8th grade hallway. These are due by May 6th.

please remember that you are trying out Tuesday through Friday of next week and you’ll need to ride an early bus to the high school if you can’t get a ride. Check the Google Classroom if you aren’t sure of something, Coach Pickett has put reminders there.
Anyone interested in wrestling next season needs to sign up during their PE class and complete a contact information form. See Coach Butler if you have any questions regarding wrestling.”
6th grade girls interested in trying out for the CHMS 7th grade girls basketball team, tryouts will be Tuesday May 3rd and Wednesday May 4th from 3:15-5:30 in the gym. You must have an updated physical to try out. Physicals need to be turned in to Mrs. Brown by Monday May 2nd. Please sign up outside Mrs. Brown’s room. See Mrs. Brown for any questions.

Attention Girls interested in playing High School Basketball. Evaluations will be held at the High School May 16-20. On Monday and Tuesday (5/16-5/17) from 3:30-5:30 and on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (5/18-5/20) from 5:30-7:30. You must have an updated physical and concussion form turned in to be able to participate. Please see Mrs. Brown for these forms and to sign up.
Current 6th and 7th graders, anyone interested in running Cross Country next fall, there will be an interest meeting, Wednesday, May 4, in Mrs. Burdette’s room 3 at 7:15.
All current 8th graders are invited to attend the 8th grade banquet at Douglas Manor. It is a time to get together with your friends and celebrate all of your accomplishments in middle school with dinner and dancing! The cost to attend is $20. Please turn money in to your 1st period teacher. Money is due by Friday, May 6th
