Athletic Physicals: We are offering our athletic physicals again this year during school. This is for all our current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. This will ensure you have the proper AHSAA Physical Examination Form on file for any tryouts/practices/games for middle school and those going into high school. The cost of the physicals will be $20. Checks need to be made out to Chelsea Middle School and all money brought to Coach Butler. Physical forms need to be picked up from Coach Butler. The front page will need to be completed by a parent/guardian. Forms will need to be turned back in to Coach Butler by January 9th. The pre-screening will take place on January 10th (Tuesday) during PE for all those signed up. Any people absent that day will be able to make up the pre-screening during that week. The portion of the exam completed by a physician will be done at Chelsea High School on January 20th. The kids will ride the bus over to the high school during the day and come back to Chelsea MS afterwards. This portion of the exam can not be made up. All parts of the pre-screening and the doctor examination will be done during school hours. This saves you time and is cheaper than most co-pays.”
Parents of Daughters:
Several organizations in Alabama have teamed up to present an exciting opportunity to girls in 6th-12th grades. “Power UP: It’s a Mother Daughter Thing!” is an event that promises to educate, engage, and encourage more mothers and daughters to explore career opportunities in the construction industry. This event will take place on March 21, 2017, from 5:30-8:30pmat the AIDT/Alabama Workforce Training Center located at 3500 6th Avenue South in Birmingham.
Space is limited, so girls interested in this event need to submit an application by Wednesday, January 25, 2017. If you and/or your daughter is interested in attending this event, please see one of your counselors for an application.
January 10th is the last day to purchase yearbooks. They can be purchased at balfour.com for $50.
