Announcements – October 20

FBLA members – see Mrs. Smith to pick up pretzels to sell for the fundraiser. Also T-shirt money and size is due next week.

Order forms and money for absentee pictures need to be turned in to the main office by this Friday, October 20.

Due to Book Fair, there will be no study hall or book check outs in the library this week.

SGA is sponsoring a pumpkin painting contest with a leader theme. VISA gift cards will be awarded to first, second, and third place. Pick up a flyer in the office for more details.

Chelsea Middle School Athletic Booster Club is hosting a video game fun day on Thursday, Oct 26th. The gym will be turned into video game central with every type gaming system you can imagine. Wrist bands are on sale now and you can purchase a wrist bands during your PE class for $25.
If you purchase a wrist band before your PE class next Thursday, you will be able to play during your PE time. The gym will be open from 3:00 to 7:00 to the community so plan to stay after school to play and enjoy the concessions.
You don’t want to miss out on all the fun, so don’t forget your $25.

Notes from the Nurse…
1. If you would like for your student to receive a flu shot at school they will be given on Wednesday Oct. 18. You MUST have a form filled out completely and turned in by Tuesday Oct. 17 to take part in the vaccination. Forms went home with report cards. If you need one you can get one from the front office.

2.PAL – The deadlines for turning in meds for PAL are Oct. 25 for Week 1 and Nov. 1 for Week 2. No meds will be taken after these deadlines except for special circumstances approved by the school nurse ahead of time. Forms for meds can be found on the SCS website. If your student has meds in the health room at school and you wish for those to be sent to PAL you MUST let the nurse know ahead of time. If you have any questions about meds for PAL please call and let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. Darlene Davis, RN ( 205) 682-7213

Congratulations to the cross country team for the meet at Helena High School last Saturday. Girls took 1st place and the boys came in 3rd. The top 10 finishers were Miles Brush, Thomas Ludwig, and Tyndal Ann Griffith. Avery Burleson came in 1st place winning the girls race.

6 & 7 graders interested in playing Youth Club Basketball can pick up information at the main office window or from your last period teacher
