HW – begin studying notes given in class and the Q and A page 681 (See notes and handouts page) Wednesday - Diagrams and worksheet on the reproductive systems. HW – study Thursday – Review of the reproductive systems. Continue discussion of excretory system. Students will take notes from ppt. All information written in red should be copied down. HW – No homework this week, unless you do not get finished with your classwork. Tuesday - The students will watch the video “Human Footprint” that describes how we are leaving our mark on Wednesday – The students will label and color code the organs of the urinary system. The students will define the key terms on page 666. HW – finish any classwork Thursday - The students will read the material on the endocrine system and complete the chart given ( must be finished in class). The students will then color code and label the endocrine system diagram given. HW – finish the color coding of the endocrine system if you did not get to it today in class. Friday- The students will watch the Bill Nye video on the brain, respiration and the circulatory system. Quiz Wednesday over Ch. 17, sec 1 Tuesday - Students will finish construction paper lungs and start Ch. 17, sec. 1 outline. HW – Outline is due tomorrow. (help with this is on notes and handouts page) Wednesday - Quiz over Ch. 17, Sec. 1. After quiz, students will work in groups reading and discussing the excretory system material from Ch. 17, sec. 2. Each will take a section and explain to the other students in their group. HW. – none Thursday – The students will finish their group activity. We will then come back together as a class and discuss the excretory system and take a few notes. HW. none Friday – Organ observation/identification lab – sheep brains, hearts and kidneys. Students will also identify the internal organs of the dissected fetal pig. HW – Key terms pp. 564 and 574 (total 16 words) The web quest on the nervous system should be completed by Friday. Students will take a quiz on the material they gathered. They will be able to use their sheets for the quiz. ***Students who made a D or F on the open note test for the Nervous System, will take another test on Friday. They were given study guides to help them study. This will not be open note. Tuesday - We will check the key terms students were to complete last night. Students will draw, label and color the parts of the respiratory system. Students will complete the respiratory system handout. HW – Read Ch. 17 Sec. 1 and 2. Complete the Q&A pages 572 and 578. This is due Thursday. Wednesday – Students will watch a video on how the respiratory system works in humans and other forms of life. (Youtube-Education) HW – Reminder – Q and A pages 572 and 578 due tomorrow. Thursday - We will discuss the hazards of smoking and other drugs people put into their body. We will go over the answers to the Q&A that was assigned Tuesday. HW – Reminder – some students will retake the Nervous System test tomorrow. Friday - a few students will be retaking the test over the Nervous System. Using construction paper, the other students will create set of lungs that shows the trachea, bronchi, alveoli and the tissues of the lungs. The students were to draw, label and color the nueron and nerve impulse pathway from ch. 19. Students will begin defining key terms from Ch. 19, sec. 1. HW. – finish classwork Tuesday - (Zabala out sick) Students read Chapter 19, sec. 1 and completed the questions and answers from the section assessment. The students also worked on the key terms from Ch. 19, sec. 2. HW. – finish any classwork Wednesday – discussion of the nervous system. Students took notes as we discussed the divisions of the nervous system and its functions. The ppt. and notes are in the notes section. HW – Key terms for Ch. 19, sec. 1 (pg.626) and 2 (pg. 632)/Ch. 19 sec. 1 assessment(pg.630)/neuron(pg.628) and nerve impulse (pg.629) drawings Thursday – We will go over the answers to the section assessment from Ch. 19, sec. 1. Homework will be checked. The students will color code and label the parts of the brain.
