Beginning Band, I am looking forward to a productive rehearsal this morning! See you there!
2016 All-State Requirements
Beginning Band: Essential Elements Book 1 (for your instrument)
7th grade Band: Essential Elements Book 2
8th grade Band: Essential Technique Book 3 and the “I Recommend” book
Art’s Music Shop, Bailey Bros. Music, and Gadsden Music all have these books in their stores. If you need items or minor instrument repair/maintenance, all 3 stores send a rep to our school each week. If you need reeds or other accessories delivered, they can do that, too. Just call the store no later than Monday of the week you need these items. You may pay over the phone or send cash/check with your child to the school. Checks must be made out to the appropriate store, and not to the school.
Thursday, Sept. 18.
6:00 p.m. Wear band shirts. We will perform for the 8th grade game that evening. (7th gr. game is 5:30.)
This was given out to the students today. More to come as I receive details from Troy… I forgot to mention on the handout that the students must wear their band shirts all day. It will most likely be warm enough for shorts–athletic shoes are required. No flip flops, sandals, etc.
And the Subway lunch is only a choice of ham or turkey, with cheese or without. They will bring vegetables and condiments on a separate tray. You are welcome to bring/provide your own lunch.
Please print the last page, sign, return to Mrs. Rizzo by Sept. 5. Thanks!Band handbook 14 update
They will deliver to school! All 3 music stores will take phone orders and deliver needed items to school on their normal day. Art’s Music Shop, 995-8376 and Bailey Bros. Music, 271-7827 both come to our school each Wednesday, 1st and 2nd periods respectively. Gadsden Music, 1-800-264-7228 has traditionally come on Tuesdays. (Call on Saturday or Monday for a Wednesday delivery.) Make sure you give the student’s name and school as part of the order.
With that said, all band students need their band books (and other necessary items) by Wednesday, August 27.
Congratulations to Parker and Nathan for being selected our student conductors for the 2014-15 school year! We had about 13 students that auditioned for this position, and we are blessed to have that many students with the desire to conduct, lead, and serve. Thank you to everyone that prepared and auditioned.
