I am so excited to add to my “technology toolbox” by launching a blog. Throughout the year I plan to make posts related to the various responsibilities associated with my role here at HIS.
Wow! Helena Intermediate continues to have above 95% average daily attendance. In Month 7 of this school year, we had an average daily attendance of 96.07. Keep up the good work!
We are seeing a huge increase in the number of students tardy to school. As we approach the final stretch, please review your current routine and work to ensure that your students are in class before the 7:45 A.M. bell rings. Remember, three unexcused tardies in a calendar month results in Early Morning Detention. Thank you for your help in guaranteeing that instruction in your child’s classroom can begin on time without interruption.
Remember, each student with Perfect Attendance for the nine weeks will be awarded a token for the backpack token chain. Stay tuned for more Attendance Awareness Month tidbits!
Whew! Where has the time gone? The past two weeks have been filled with excitement, changes, learning new things and meeting new people. I can honestly say that despite all the beginning of the year hustle and bustle, the students have been amazing. Many Paw Print compliments are being awarded for superior hall behavior, the third graders have quickly figured out that HIS buses have numbers and are all yellow, and the fifth graders are assuming their roles as “leaders” in our school.
I’m looking forward to a great year! My expectations have already been exceeded, so I can only imagine how terrific it’s going to be.
Thank you, parents, for partnering with us at HIS to provide the best possible education we can for our children.
