Today in class, I gave everyone a chance to earn extra credit on their short story essays by reading them out loud to the class. This not only helps other students hear how other people wrote their essays (learning a lot about organization) but this experience also helps students learn to give speeches and helps with overcoming nerves when getting up in front of people.
