8 paragraphs. Intro, 6 body paragraphs, conclusion

3. How much is the final paper worth?

200 pts

5. What if I don’t do a Works Cited page?

6. Do I need to let you see my outline?

Yes. By this Friday for 50 pts.

7. Is the 50 pts part of the 200 pts for the paper?

No, it’s a separate grade.

8.  What does an outline look like?

See the post before this one! 🙂

9.  What do you mean by “cite sources” or “parenthetical documentation”?

When you are putting your notes that back up your theories in your research paper, you need to give credit to the people who wrote those words. See this for an example.

10. How many times do I need to use parenthetical documentation?

At least 6. About once in each body paragraph.

11.  Do I need to let you see my rough draft?

YES! I need to see it by Friday so I can help you with it. It is also worth 50 pts.  Please type if at all possible. My eyes are not what they used to be. 🙂

12.  I am using a source from the internet that has no page numbers. How do I cite it?

In parenthetical references in the text, works on the internet are cited just like printed works. For any type of source, you must include information in your text that directs readers to the correct entry in the works cited list. Web documents generally do not have fixed page numbers or any kind of section numbering. If your source lacks numbering, you have to omit numbers from your parenthetical reference.  So basically, if the author on the internet is named Wally Brown, your parenthetical citation would look like this: (Brown).

13.  What font should I use?

Times New Roman

14.  What size font?

TWELVE/12

15.  Do I have to double space my paper?

YES.

16.  Can I email you my paper if my printer doesn’t work?

Yes, only if you have to.  Try the library, a friend’s house, the PHS library, etc. before you resort to that though.  If you don’t get a response from me, I did not get the paper.
