About Mrs. Haglund

Welcome to my blog!  Thank you for stopping by.

My name is Mrs. Jill Haglund.  I was born in Minnesota but mostly grew up in Atlanta, GA.  I still have relatives in both places.

Before coming to Shelby County as a teacher in 2001, I taught 5th grade in Texas, 3rd grade at a private school in Georgia, and 2nd grade in Oklahoma.  My family moved to Chelsea, AL, from Oklahoma in 2001. From 2001-2006, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at what used to be Chelsea Elementary School.  In the fall of 2006, I became the first librarian for the brand new Chelsea Intermediate School.  When Chelsea Intermediate turned into Forest Oaks Elementary in 2013-14, I stayed on as the library media specialist.

I earned my first undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  (ROLL TIDE!!) After that, I completed an elementary and middle school education degree at Midwestern State University and, later, a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from UWA.

My wonderful husband and I have 6 boys and 4 girls ages 15-33. We live in here Shelby County with 4 of our boys who are still in high school/college along with our 5 dogs, 2 outside cats, and various fish.
