Scholarships

Attention Seniors:

The 2016 National FFA Scholarship Application is live!

Application deadlines for 2016:
o The online application must be submitted prior to 5 p.m. EST on Feb. 1, 2016
o The Signature Page (required to complete eligibility) must be mailed postmarked no later than Feb. 8, 2016

Membership deadline for 2016:
o States must submit membership to national by March 1

Visit FFA.org/scholarships for information and access to the application. Be sure to review additional eligibility requirements for America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarships (presented by the Monsanto Fund) and the Built Ford Tough dealer scholarship program.

Engineering Explorer Program

American Cast Iron Pipe Co. (ACIPCO) is looking for students interested in engineering careers and want to invite you to be a part of their Engineering Explorer Program. It is open to young men and women, grades 9th through 12th, and gives participants a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at all aspects of engineering careers. Students will learn about engineering careers through hands-on demonstrations, design competitions, and tours of university engineering departments.

The first meeting is this Tuesday, Sept. 29th, from 6:30-8:00pm. ACIPCO is located at 1501 31st Avenue North, Birmingham 35207.

Academy Night

The five U.S. Military Academies (Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines) will host Academy Night on Monday, September 21st at 6:00 pm at the Homewood Library. Any student interested in attending one of the academies after graduating from high school is encouraged to attend.
