Woo Hoo!!!! BLUE TEAM totally ROCKS! Mrs. Higg’s room was 4th place, Mrs. Smith’s room was 3rd place, and GREEN’S NARWHALS were 2nd! I am proud of all of your effort (and sweat)!

Remember we eat lunch later than normal; eat a hearty breakfast!

English: School is not finished yet. We have a final vocabulary quiz tomorrow; we will write an expository example tomorrow as well.

Wednesday will see us speaking extemporaneously Be prepared to think on your feet as we perfect “the art of chat”.

Science: You will adapt an animal to fit into your selected biome. Be ready to be creative

There’s only one more week to go

English: Why should we write a “normal” narrative when a “narrative with a twist” is so much more fun! I am pretty sure you enjoyed this writing activity!

Science: Review chapters 14, 21, and biome information before your benchmark test. Remember your textbook is due tomorrow as well.

Our “Green’s Narwhals” shirts are pretty cute! I will give them out tomorrow or Monday before field day.

English: The benchmark test scores look great! Thanks for working so diligently all the way to the end

Science: Complete the benchmark review guide tonight if you did not do so in class. This test is Friday; textbooks are due then as well.

There is only ONE more Tuesday

English: Today we reviewed action verbs with direct objects and indirect objects as well as linking verbs with predicate adjectives or predicate nouns. Review lessons 10.1-10.3 in the textbook if you missed class. Also read through lessons 17.1-17.7. You will be prepared for the benchmark test tomorrow if you do those things

The English textbook is due tomorrow, too.

Science: We continued our discussion on various biomes. We also worked on chapter 14 of the study guide.

BTW…I have ordered our field day shirts; they should arrive soon! Go Narwhals

Time certainly is flying! I know you are thrilled and shouting for joy because the year is almost over, but it makes me sad to know that our time together is drawing to an end

English: Wednesday’s benchmark test covers parts of chapter 13, 10, and 17. If you missed class today, complete p. 408, exercise 5 and 6; p. 409, exercise 7; and p. 410, exercise 9. Your textbook is due Wednesday as well

Science: We continued our work on biomes today in class. We also completed the benchmark study guide for questions 1-10. This test is Friday and the textbook is due that day, too.

Over the weekend, please locate all of your textbooks. The English book will be collected Wednesday before you take the benchmark exam; the science book will be collected Friday before you take that benchmark test, too.

English: The benchmark test is planned for Wednesday. You may want to review units 13, 10, and 17 before Monday.

Science: This benchmark test is scheduled for Friday. It will cover chapters 21 and 14 and the information on biomes, too.

I know you have “beach fever”, but keep working for a couple of weeks

Can you believe there are only TWO more Thursdays left? It makes me sad to know our time together is quickly drawing to an end

English: If you missed last Friday’s diagramming test, you know to take it tomorrow during class. We will finish/share our narrative poems tomorrow in class, too.

Science: We continued our unit on biomes today and will explore the locations, climates, plants, and animals of another one tomorrow.

English: Today we listened to Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors”. We discussed the narrative poem the lyrics create, and you collected ideas about a true story of yours that has a moral. We will write a narrative poem tomorrow in class.

If you missed Friday’s diagramming test, you will take it Friday, May 10, during class.

Science: There is no homework in science this week.

Remember Friday is GALA night! You will want to bring your $7.00, so you can buy your ticket during lunch.

English: Today we reviewed writing samples in preparation for Monday’s ARMT+. Remember to review unit 17 in the textbook for tomorrow’s diagramming test.

Science: We have finished creating the ocean plant/animal and its research. Tomorrow we will wrap up chapter 14. On Monday we will begin our study of other biomes.
