Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a fabulous summer! We are excited to start a new school year! This year we have a new room and we are so excited to utilize it to the fullest potential. The new room features individual direct instruction rooms, a sensory room, a circle time area, and a computer center! Each student has their own personal space for their belongings as well. Our parking lot of equipment is full again and we are so excited to use each and every piece! We have a display wall outside of the classroom that features student work! We are so proud of our students and want them to be able to show off their accomplishments! 🙂
Another fun addition to the special education department is our sensory room. All students who receive special education services have access to this room and its just down the hall! The sensory room features a therapy swing, a tunnel, mats for stretching, bean bags, sensory items, a fish tank and much more!
The students have really enjoyed getting comfortable in our new room. We have started learning our schedules and routines as well. Students are supported in their learning by the classroom’s fabulous team of teachers, therapists, para-educators. Each student has had multiple opportunities to be apart of their inclusion classrooms and are enjoying getting to know their teachers and friends!
August is almost over already and I can’t wait to see what September holds!
