Please bring in canned or boxed foods for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. The donations will given to Shelby Emergency Assistance. The class with the most items per student will win a pizza party!! The drive ends on NOVEMBER 18th!
The theme for guidance this semester comes from the books Have You Filled A Bucket Today? (K-2) and Growing Up With A Bucketful of Happiness (3-5), both by Carol McCloud. In these books, McCloud teaches that each one of us has an invisible bucket to hold good thoughts and feelings about ourselves. When our buckets are full, we feel happy. When our buckets are empty we feel sad or mad. Doing kind things for others fills their buckets and ours too. Our students are having a great time trying to fill each others buckets!
Ask your child to tell you all about bucket-filling. We would appreciate it if you would spend a little time with your child talking about ways to fill buckets. Homes, schools and communities are better places to be when we practice kindness.
It’s time to start a new school year. I am looking forward to working with you to make this a great year!
