I am so thankful for the opportunity to be with your beautiful children daily at school! I encourage you to make a list each day of the things that you are thankful for this season and everyday. There is so much to be thankful for if we only take the time to notice!

You can tell by the change in the weather that summer is almost here! I am happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I will have more time to spend with my children at home and at the beach but sad as well because I will really miss seeing the smiling faces of my awesome kids.
Next year will bring many changes to my classroom and the promotion of 4 wonderful students to MMS. We will miss these students but are excited about their future.
I am so excited to start a new school year! I hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer. We will be experiencing some changes for the first few weeks of school as Mrs. Sharman will be having a baby very soon. James Alexander Sharman will be here before we know it and Ms. Petra Strohmeyer will be teaching the students while I am away. She recently graduated from The University of Montevallo with a collaborative special education degree. We are so blessed to have her with us during this time! 🙂
After the early dismissal yesterday the students returned today ready to learn. Our Prayers and thoughts are with those students in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham as they regroup and recover from the horrible storm that changed thier lives!
The students participated in an awesome day of fun and field events. Each student raced to the finish line in various races. All the volunteers were so helpful and the staff of therapists that worked on the project did an incredible job. The events were organized and the students made their way to the events with ease. It was such a joy to watch the children have so much fun and feel a sense of accomplishment!
