*Jrs & Srs: Mrs. Eades has 10 prom tickets available that must be purchased by 3 pm today.
*Attention Seniors: Ms. Allen has added new scholarships to her blog including information on full tuition choral scholarships to Jeff State Community College and scholarships being offered by the Beta Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Check them out!
*Seniors: Are you planning to serve in any branch of the military after graduation? If so, please let Ms. Allen know your intentions this week.
*Attention Juniors: MHS is seeking civic-minded student leaders as representatives for both Alabama Girls State and Alabama Boys State. Both of these dynamic programs will be offered this summer at the University of Alabama. Please see Ms. Allen this week if you would like to be considered for selection.
*Seniors, you have until March 31st to complete your 75 hours of community service if you would like to strive for the $500 scholarship. Scholarship applications are due by April 15th.
*Attention Students: ACT has extended late registration for the April exam to March 24. The late registration fee will still apply.
*”Have you ever wanted to go zip-lining through the rain forest or kayaking next to a volcano? What about snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea or relaxing in natural hot springs? Coach Cooley is sponsoring a trip to Costa Rica in summer 2018 where you can do all this and more. Any interested students should drop by his room, 203, to sign up and get more information today.”

TOMORROW will be the absolute last day to purchase Prom tickets!. T-shirts are not included, they will be sold separately. Prom will be held April 8th at the Winfrey Hotel.

The Jr. City Council will be collecting any old electronics for recycling through Friday. Please drop off in box provided in the main office.

MHS News 3/20/2017

WEDNESDAY WILL BE THE ABSOLUTE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE PROM TICKETS!. T-shirts are not included, they will be sold separately. Prom will be held April 8th at the Winfrey Hotel.

TOMORROW, juniors will be taking the ACT +Writing as a state assessment. Juniors are reminded to make every effort to get to school on time. Remember too that the cell phone/electronic device policy will be strictly enforced and students will not be allowed to possess these items during testing.

*Cheerleading tryout packets are due to Ms. Ward TODAY!
*Prom tickets will be on sale through nest Wednesday for $50 per person. T-shirts are not included, they will be sold separately. The absolute last day to purchase a prom ticket is Wednesday March 22nd. See Mrs. Eades during 5th period ONLY to purchase your ticket.

*Make plans to eat at Texas Roadhouse for Senior Night TONIGHT . 20% of sales will be donated for the senior class banquet. Flyers may be picked up from Mrs. Eades or main office.

*Congratulations to MHS’s first Destination Imagination teams for both being first place winners! They will now go the state competition in Huntsville April 15th. One team has a great chance at making it all the way to the Global competition in May!
*Parents / Guardians: Please note that you must present a valid ID when checking out a student. There may at times be someone in the main office who is not familiar with those who visit on a regular basis.

*FREE ACT Math Study Session to Juniors on Saturday 9-12. Sign up with Mrs. Cabrera.

*If you are interested in trying out for cheerleading for next year, cheerleading clinic will take place March 20-23 and tryouts will be on March 24. Please note that to be eligible for tryouts, you must be present every day of cheerleading clinic. If you are interested or have any questions, see Ms. Ward.

*Attention Seniors: You still have time to get help completing your FAFSA. A Blueprints representative will be in the library on Thursday, from 11:30-1:30 to help students and/or parents with the FAFSA. See Ms. Allen if you have questions.

*If you did not complete your voter registration form at the assembly last Friday or if you did not get one and would like to register to vote please see CP today before the end of 5th period in his classroom.

MHS NEWS 3/6/2017

*The baseball game for Tuesday has been changed to today beginning at 4:30 against Chilton Co. at home. Varsity only double header
*Bells will be off today due to ACCESS testing. Students please be mindful when changing classes of the noise level.
*Attention Prospective AP Students: Any student wishing to take an AP class in 2017-2018 must submit the mandatory AP contract this spring. Copies of the contract can be found outside Ms. Allen’s office.
*FREE ACT Math Study Session to Juniors on Saturday, March 11th, 9-12. Sign up with Mrs. Cabrera.
*Attention Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentors: Ms. Allen will hold a mandatory meeting for all “Bigs” during the senior GPS time TODAY in the PAC. Please report promptly at 11:25.
