Congratulations to Joseph Cardoza, Daquan Bryant, Ahmed Edwards & Tyler Olds for finishing 2nd in the state 4 by 100!

Attention Seniors: The Lhoist North America Scholarship is now active. It is open to students planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college who demonstrate financial need and extracurricular involvement. Grab a copy of the application from Ms. Allen’s scholarship wall. The deadline is May 19.

Shelby County Poetry Players will hold auditions for the 2017-2018 school season on Tuesday, May 16th at Montevallo High School. Auditions will begin at 3:30 P.M. and will end at 4:30 P.M.

MHS News 5/2/2017

Parents/Guardians: Online registration is now available.  Please be reminded that your child has been given a copy of your  access code and instructions for online registration.  Once you have your access code, follow the instructions and begin registering.  All registration for the 2017-18 school year must be completed online.  More information will be sent regarding dates and times for providing proofs of residence and paying fees.

Shelby County Poetry Players will hold auditions for the 2017-2018 school season on Tuesday, May 16th at Montevallo High School. Auditions will begin at 3:30 P.M. and will end at 4:30 P.M.

For anyone interested in becoming a Sports Medicine Student volunteer, there will be a meeting on Monday, May 1st, at 2:30in the PAC.

Student / Faculty basketball game Friday. Participants must pay $5.00 to Coach D by Thursday. Tickets for attending the game will be sold Friday for $3.00

Haven’t earned your Give Me Five Required Service Hours yet? There’s still time! Come help out at the Annual MHS Day of Service Saturday from 8am to 12pm. If you work 4 hours – you get credit for all 5 required hours! Breakfast and snacks will be available. Come dressed in work clothes and help out your school!

Students who need to access classrooms beyond the library will need to take the route through the athletic hall. Hallway access will open once testing is complete.

TODAY during GPS, there will be a required training in Mrs. Pastor’s class for all leadership mentors who will be helping with the 8th grade Shadowing Day. You will receive notification in your history classes if you are on the mentor list to help with this program.

MHS News 4/24/2017

Students parking in spaces #1 –8 will need to park in the old student lot tomorrow. These spaces will be blocked for county maintenance.

The MHS Talent Show today during Late Activity. Tickets for the Talent Show will be on sale during lunch for $5.00. You must have a ticket in order to leave class. No tickets sold after lunch or at the door.

Please be reminded that MHS will run a regular schedule for Friday, April 21.  All students will report to school at the normal first bell at 7:39.

*The MHS Talent Show is coming up on April 24th during Late Activity. Tickets for the Talent Show will be on sale starting Wednesday during each lunch period for $5.00.
*All Students Institute Participants will have a brief meeting during their GPS time in Mrs. Pastor’s class on Monday, April 24.

*There will be a working lunch meeting for SGA members on Friday, April 21 in Mrs. Pastor’s class. 9th and 9th grade members get lunch at beginning of 4th period and bring to Mrs. Pastor’s class. 11th and 12th grade do the same at the beginning of 5th period.

Students: Please remember that AP fees and class fees are due TOMORROW! Checks will not be accepted after this date, cash only.

Attention Teachers and AP Students: A mandatory AP Pre-Session will be conducted with all grade 11 & 12 AP students TODAY during 7th period in the cafeteria.

Current Sophomores & Juniors: A representative from the U of Montevallo will be available during your lunch waves TODAY.

Any student interested in playing tennis or golf next year please see Mrs. Majors in the main office.

The Montevallo FFA Chapter and Alumni will be holding our annual Farm Day event tomorrow. All MES students will attend a day of agriculturally related activities. Saturday (9:30-2:00) will be open to the public for a great community event. Boston Butts will be sold until they run out.

There will be a faculty/student basketball game on May 5th. See Coach D to sign up.

If you have any old equipment from any sport, from golf balls to tennis rackets to baseball bats, bring it in to Coach Niven or Coach Cooley’s room or place it in one of the drop off points located throughout the school. All donated gear will help support the soccer program.”
