MHS News 3/21/2014

Cheer packets are due back to Ms. Pritchett, March 31. This is the Monday we return from Spring Break.
$30 prom ticket sale extended through this week. After Spring Break they will be $40/each. Purchase from Ms. Pritchett.
Miles College will be sponsoring game night at the B’ham. Barons Monday March 31 @ 6:30 pm. All students will be admitted for $1.00.
Congratulations to the WINNERS of the Decathlon!!! Sophomores and Seniors!
This afternoon Freshmen and Juniors will compete for 3rd place in a game of kickball. Then Sophomores and Seniors will face the challenge of earning 1st place in their game of kickball. Make sure you have a dollar this afternoon so you can come out and support your classmates and enjoy the beautiful sunshine! Thank you for helping to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy and Cystic Fibrosis research! We have a student at MHS that has to deal with Cystic Fibrosis on a daily basis. Thank you for your help!

Grad Exam testing for tomorrow will be held in the conference room in the library. Freshman will be able to access their lockers.
Seniors: Heritage Bank has $1000 scholarships available for seniors in its service area who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and who have been accepted into an accredited college. See Ms. Allen for an application.
Support your overly dramatic friends as they show off their talents Thursday night @ 7:00 pm in the PAC. Tickets will be $5.00.

Seniors: The March edition of the Senior Newsletter is available on Ms. Allen’s blog and copies will be in the Guidance Office. It contains new scholarships, important dates, and a Spring to-do list. Please check out this final edition!
Juniors: The University of Montevallo visit for 11th grade students has been moved to Monday,
March 17. Juniors can still sign up in the Guidance Office.
AP Students and Teachers: Be reminded that AP mock exams in Calculus will take place on Monday,
March 17 and Biology and Chemistry exams will take place on Tuesday, March 18. Participating students should make every effort to be present.
Students: Friday is the deadline to submit registration applications for the Shelby County College and Career Center. Ms. Allen intends to send final documents Monday morning.

If you play tp play, you can play kickball on Friday. If you plan to watch, you will need to bring $2.00 each day to enter. All money goes to Muscular Dystrophy & Cystic Fibrosis.
Freshmen students: Please be reminded that the 9th grade hall will be closed Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of next week for the graduation exam and mock AP exams. At the first bell, you should get everything you’ll need for the first 4 periods out of your lockers.

Are you talented in music, dance, or drama? If so, please consider participating in the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Talent Hunt. The showcase will be held at Montevallo High School in May, and the deadline to submit your participation application is April 19. The local winner will represent the organization in the state-wide competition. Congratulations to the band for earning ALL superior ratings at the Music Performance Assessment earlier today at Homewood High School. The students did an outstanding job. At the time of our results we were the first band of the day to earn all superior ratings. The students worked diligently toward this performance. Please help me congratulate them on a job well done!

pick up an information packet in the front office. All paperwork is due to Ms. Pritchett
by 3:00 on Monday, March 31st. Tryouts are April 1-4th.

Students who currently attend the College and Career Center: Please know that if you do not turn in your course registration form, your current career tech program will not be placed back on your schedule for next year. It is very important that you complete your forms and indicate your intent to Ms. Allen.

Seniors: The Ensley High School Alumni Association is taking applications for the Bill Sparks Scholarship. Recipients must have participated in varsity athletics and been accepted into a 4-year Alabama college or university. See Ms. Allen for more info.
Juniors: A representative from the University of Montevallo would like to meet with collegeminded junior students tomorrow during 7th period in the library. Interested 11th grade students should sign up in the guidance office.

Attention AP Students: Remember that AP Exam Fees are due to Ms. Allen TODAY.
It is school system policy and all students enrolled in an AP class take the AP Exam
in May.
