MHS News 4/24/2017

Students parking in spaces #1 –8 will need to park in the old student lot tomorrow. These spaces will be blocked for county maintenance.

The MHS Talent Show today during Late Activity. Tickets for the Talent Show will be on sale during lunch for $5.00. You must have a ticket in order to leave class. No tickets sold after lunch or at the door.

All Students Institute Participants will have a brief meeting during their GPS time in Mrs. Pastor’s class TODAY. TOMORROW during GPS, there will be a required training in Mrs. Pastor’s class for all leadership mentors who will be helping with the 8th grade Shadowing Day. You will receive notification in your history classes if you are on the mentor list to help with this program.

Haven’t earned your Give Me Five Required Service Hours yet? There’s still time! Come help out at the Annual MHS Day of Service Saturday from 8am to 12pm. If you work 4 hours – you get credit for all 5 required hours! Breakfast and snacks will be available. Come dressed in work clothes and help out your school!

Future Teacher Officer Applications are due THURSDAY, Interviews May 9th

AP Language and AP Literature classes are planning a three-hour Saturday Session Saturday in the library from 8:30-11:30

Remember to purchase your yearbook! Cost is $50.00

AP Students: Remember that your Early Dismissal Permission Forms are due to Ms. Allen today.

Teachers and Students: More ACT testing will begin on Tuesday. The library hall will be closed, so 10th grade students will need to get all you need out of you lockers at the first period bell. Students who need to access classrooms beyond the library will need to take the route through the athletic hall. Hallway access will open once testing is complete.

Juniors: Unfortunately, the Blueprints trip to Jeff State has been cancelled. However, students who submitted their permission forms will receive a replacement incentive. More details to come.

I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
