DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Birthday:

Announcements:

 Monday will be AWARDS day, so dress nice and be on your best behavior. Your parents were contacted via a phone message callout if you are receiving an award. The new Leaders of Tomorrow members will have a reception in the library on Monday after the awards assembly at about 10am.

Tuesday will be SPRING FLING for all students that pay the $2 entrance fee and are not on Mrs. Lewis’s not attending list because of behavior or lost books.  All concession items and inflatable events will cost

Wednesday will be the faculty v. student basketball game, so don’t forget to save $2 to go watch this event in the gym in the afternoon.  Wednesday morning will be movie day. There is no cost for the movie but Kona Ice will be available for purchase Wednesday morning.

Thursday will be COTS parties for lunch and early dismissal.

*All textbooks and library books must be turned in if you want to attend Spring Fling and the other fun activities planned for the end of school. You also need to pay for any damaged or lost books. Make sure you bring your textbooks to class to turn them in if you haven’t already.

*8^th graders will follow their normal schedule until they are called to the cafeteria by Ms. Lewis.

*We are on a regular schedule today.

*There will be a mandatory MS Football meeting tonight at 5pm.

*The LOT Banquet is tonight at 6pm at the UM Student Retreat Center.

*All student council members need to report to Mr. Week’s room today at the beginning of 3^rd period.  This includes any 6^th graders who applied to be student council members for next year.

Students – Please remember that we have several special events taking place next week.  Your PE teachers and 4^th period teachers can give you the details about Spring Fling and you will sign up for track and field events in your 4^th period class.

*Soccer workouts are Tuesday and Thursday this week until 4:30pm.  You must have a current physical on file and a consent form to participate.

*Elective sheets are due today to your 4^th period teachers immediately if you want your choice for electives next year.

*Peer Helper applications must be turned into Ms. Green today

*There are guest in the building today for the Chess Initiative so please be on your best behavior.

*Congratulations to the student of the week:  Shakerial Goins.  She was nominated by Mrs. Guraya.  Mrs. Guraya states that Shakerial has improved tremendously in her class this year.

Announcements:

 *We are on an activity schedule today.

*All books are due today, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Bring your books to your English Language Arts class and your teacher will collect them. If you have lost your book, you need to pay for the cost of the book as soon as possible or you won’t be able to attend SPRING FLING on May 24^th.  Again, ALL books are due today.

*The Yearbook signing party will be today at 2pm.  The cost is $2.00 and you will receive a sharpie. You do not have to have purchased a yearbook to attend the party.

*8^th grade girls Volleyball try outs have been moved to next Wednesday and Thursday after school at the high school from 3-5.

*Soccer Paperwork (physical and consent form) is due to Mrs. Thomas today for soccer workouts next Tuesday and Thursday.

*Elective sheets are due today to your 4^th period teachers.

*Congratulations to the student of the week:  Chloe Boyd.  She was nominated by Ms. Green.  Mrs Green states that as a Peer Helper Chloe is always willing to do anything needed and anything asked of her.  This week she mediated a dispute between 3 students and did an outstanding job! Her positive and encouraging nature helped to resolve a sticky situation.
