*There will be MMS volleyball practice today and Thursday from 3-5.  This is for everybody that made the team and a few girls that did not get a chance to try-out earlier.

**The Montevallo Band Concert is tonight at 6pm at the MHS Performing Arts Center. All Middle School and High School bands will perform.  Come out and enjoy an evening of musical entertainment from your favorite Montevallo musicians.

*There will be a parent meeting for all students who made the football team this Friday at 4:30pm.

It is almost time for the 2018 MMS Talent Show!

There are sign-up sheets for the 2018 MMS Talent Show Auditions posted outside the Band/Choir Room door, Main Office, and on the White Board in the Lunchroom.

Auditions will be on Thursday, May 3rd, and the Talent Show will be Thursday, May 17th. Groups must sign up each member. Auditions are $5 per person.

We are looking for all talent! (Singing, Dancing, Poetry, Art displays, Play Skits, Comedy, etc) Montevallo has talent, and Now is the time to show it!”

*High school Boy’s basketball tryouts will be today through Wednesday from 3:15-5:00pm. You must have signed up to tryout, have a current physical on file, and filled out a permission form and returned it to Coach D by today.  If you do not have these items turned in, you will not be able to try out.

*Beginning tomorrow, yearbooks will be $35.00. Please bring either cash or a check made out to MMS to Mrs. Harding as soon as possible. There is only a limited number of yearbooks available.

*The 6th graders will be on a field trip on Friday to the Space and Rocket center..

*Tomorrow will be COTS.

*Cheerleading practice is cancelled for today.  For the next two weeks, we are moving Stunt Clinic practice to Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 (at MES gym)

*In order to receive an invitation to the “all 4 nine weeks” Honor Roll Party, you must have made A or AB honor roll on the first 3 report cards AND all As and Bs on your 4th 9 weeks progress report given out today.

8th Grade will test on Tuesday and Wednesday.  No cell phones, smart watches, books, purses, etc are allowed in the testing rooms.

*6th, 7th, and 8th grade math teams will have a tournament at Pizitz Middle School  tommorow.  Please turn in your permission slips and get a copy of the directions to Pizitz from your sponsor. Your parents need to take you and pick you up at 11.

*8th Graders-please remember to turn in your permission slips for the high school visit and for the 8th grade Picnic.  If your parents wish to donate items or volunteer for the picnic, please let Mrs. Deerman know as soon as possible.

Track had a fantastic showing at the county meet yesterday finishing in fifth place overall.  Kial Cottingham finished in 1st place on the high jump.  The boys four by one team – Kobe Prentice, Quintae Rafter, Kial Cottingham, and Tamardreon Purnell- finished in third place.  Kobe Prentice and Quintae Rafter also finished in 3rd place and 4th place in the 100 meter dash, and then Quintae had a second place finish in the 200 meter dash, and Kobe Prentice finished third.  The meet ended with the four by four team – Kane Gentry, Kial Cottingham, Tamardreon Purnell, and Terion Lilly- sealing a third place finish.  Please congratulate these athletes and all the members of the track team for a great season.
