Congrats Soccer Teams!!

Congratulations to the Girls Soccer Team for winning the Class 6A State Championship this weekend!  The girls program brought home their first state title with wins over Huntsville (1-0 in semifinals) and Auburn (1-0 in finals).  This was an incredible season for the girls as they finished with a 28-2 record!

Also, congratulations to the Boys Soccer Team for finishing as Class 6A Runner-Up!  The boys once again electrified the state tournament crowd with a thrilling victory over Vestavia in the semifinals, but were unable to overcome an inspired Auburn team in the finals.  They finished the season with a 21-4-2 record.

Congrats to both teams for representing OMHS so well!

HOOPS FOR HOPE!

Oak Mountain High School’s Relay for Life will host its annual Hoops for Hope event on Dec. 9th at the basketball games vs. Spain Park.  In order to raise money in the fight against cancer, the Relay for Life team is selling Hoops for Hope t-shirts for $12.  All proceeds from the shirts will go directly to the OMHS Relay for Life committee.  Please consider supporting both our Relay for Life team and the basketball teams by purchasing a shirt before the November 22nd deadline.  Go Eagles!

OAK MOUNTAIN ATHLETIC EVENTS ARE ON THE INTERNET AND AVAILABLE ON-DEMAND

The Athletic Department at Oak Mountain High School would like to introduce a partnership with Playon Sports, a company which deals with internet live streaming and on-demand offerings of athletic events and other school related activities.  This company is endorsed by the AHSAA and provides our own website where we can showcase our events.

To this date we have successfully filmed and uploaded our two home football games versus Pelham and Spain Park as well as two volleyball games.   These events are currently available to be viewed on-demand and free of charge at www.theahsaanetwork.com/oakmountain   All this work is being done by students in our school’s broadcasting class under the direction of  Coach Justin Moore and Mrs. Julie Hart.  Our goal is to highlight as many sporting events and other school activities as possible throughout the year.

As of last Friday we are up and running with play-by-play announcing and are looking to move to multiple cameras and live streaming  in the near future.  Sponsorship opportunities will be made available as we move forward.  Please join us in this exciting new endeavor for Oak Mountain High School and visit us at www.theahsaanetwork.com/oakmountain
