Oak Mountain Middle School, located in north Shelby County, Alabama, has one of the largest band programs in the state. The band has 300+ members this school year. Performing groups include a Pep Band, three Beginning Bands, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and an Advanced Band. The bands at Oak Mountain Middle have consistently received superior ratings at local and national contests. Many of the band students audition and are selected for All-State, Honor Bands, and the Shelby County Honor Band Festival.
