OMMS Science Club Blog

We have 71 people signed up to raft this year!  More than enough transportation has also been made available by parents.  Thank you parents SO much for being able to drive and make this trip possible.

The $40 per person rafting is due this Friday, May 3rd.  Remember, drivers get to raft for free.  Just make sure you let Mr. Walker know if the driver is rafting or not.

Below are three attachment links.  The first link is the letter of final instructions, directions, address, and phone numbers.  The second link is for EVERYONE THAT WILL BE RAFTING, whether student or parent.  It is the waiver and release of liability form required by every person that rafts with the company we are using.  The third link is for those driving a vehicle only.

Science Club is coming to an end for this year.   The attached letter of intention to go rafting is due by Friday, April 26, 2013.  The payment is not due until Friday, May 3, 2013.

Rafting 2013

We will meet today after school until 4:30.  The winner of today’s hover craft race will be able to go white water rafting in May for free.

The next meeting originally planned for Monday, December 17, 2012 is POSTPONED until sometime in January.  We will try to have two meetings in January.

The next club meeting is Monday, November 26th after school until 4:30.  We will eat fried calamari and dissect squid.

Welcome to the OMMS science club blog.  Science Club is meant to be a place to have fun with science.  Our first meeting will be Monday, October 22, 2012 right after school.  The meeting will be over at 4:30.  Parents should pick up members at the end of C-West (door 4) near the gym.  Members should go to Mr. Walker’s room, C-19, at the end of school Monday to begin the meeting.  The highlight of the first meeting will be a fire-breathing pumpkin.

The following link is the club letter.  Science Club beginning 2012  The second page of the letter must be returned by October 30, 2012 to be considered a member this school year.  Any 8th grader that has appropriate behavior may join.  You may still join and return the letter by 10/30/12 even if you can’t come to a meeting until later in the year due to other school activities.  Just print out the letter and return the second page.  I look forward to a great year!
