If you have not already emailed Coach Adams with your choice of a time slot, please do so ASAP. radams@shelbyed.k12.al.us
Please wear SOMETHING Sunday that says Oak Mountain, or RED/BLUE and comfortable shoes.
The pass I will be giving out will allow ONE person into the grounds ONE time only. You will exhange this ticket for an armband.
Please give yourself plenty of time to get there.
When you drive to the Park, here are directions:
Take I-459 to I-20 east (towards Atlanta). Get off at first exit (Leeds/ Bass Pro Shop). Turn right at end of ramp.
Take first right towards Barber Motorsports Park.
Follow signs for Barber Motorsports Park – entrance on the right. (I think it is the third right – just past Bass Pro Shop scenic entrance).
Follow this road until dead ends. Barber Museum will be right in front of you. IGNORE SIGNS FOR VOLUNTEER PARKING.
Turn Left.
This road will take you to the official “gate”. Show ticket there. It is IMPORTANT that you tell them you are going to FIVE STAR KITCHEN as a VOLUNTEER. If necessary, use DEBBIE ODOM’s name. She is in charge of concessions. Debbie says that they will let you pass through gate without a parking pass. If they have a problem – tell them to call Debbie and tell her you are with OM Middle School volunteers.
Turn LEFT. Follow road around to the left. You will be looking for a sign that will be on the RIGHT that will be a directional sign. It will show FIVE STAR KITCHEN and point to the left. Turn left into parking area in here. FIVE STAR Kitchen is the THIRD building on the left. Park anywhere you find a spot. Meet outside this THIRD building. There are two larger roller doors on the front of the building. Debbie Odom, or one of her assistants will meet you there.
IF YOU ARE AN AFTERNOON SHIFT, meet in this same spot and someone from FIVE STAR will show you where to go. If you do not see anyone – do not hesitate to ask someone in a “FIVE STAR CATERING” shirt.
In case you have a problem, please call Debbie at CELL: 919-8901 OFFICE: 699-2740.
