  1. 6TH Red students going to PAL are reminded your luggage must be appropriately labeled (that means everything) and brought to the bus canopy on the west side of the school between 7-7:40 a.m. tomorrow morning.

 

            2.             Requests for photo remakes must be brought to the office by the end of 4th period TODAY!

 

                3.             The Debate team meets today, 3-4:30 p.m. in A-16.

 

  1. 8th grade Science Club meets today in the Science Lab, 3-4:30 p.m. Parents are to pick up promptly at the C-west door. (#4)

October 17 Announcement

October 16 Announcement

  1. 6th Red students/parents are reminded any medication need for PAL must be submitted by tomorrow with the appropriate documentation.

 

  1. 8th grade Science Club will meet Monday, 10/20, 3-4:30 p.m. in C-17. Any 8th grader interested in having fun with science should plan to attend. Burning metal and a fire-breathing pumpkin await the victims…oh, members! Parents are to pick up at the C-west door.

 

  1. Many thanks to those students and parents who helped us exceed our Can you Can” goal with a donation of 3,805 items! Grade level winners are Mrs. Denney for 6th, Ms. Ferguson for 7th, and Mr. Walker for 8th. Special recognition goes to the combined classes of Sussman, Pressley, and Vandiver for donating 545 items!

               

  1. Report cards will be distributed tomorrow during first period. 6th grade White students on PAL will receive theirs on Monday.

 

  1. Eagle Ambassadors are reminded to wear your blue shirts & badge for Parenting Day tomorrow. Please remain in uniform for your group photo during 8th period.

October 14 Announcement

 

  1. 7TH graders are reminded that the DC parent/student informational meeting has been postponed until Tuesday, 10/28, 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.

 

  1. Good luck to our 8th grade Scholars Bowl team as they head to compete against Bumpus today. Team members have permission to dismiss to C-19 at 2:45 p.m.

 

  1. Students who had photos made on September 10, but desire a remake, must bring in the original proof with a written request from parents by the end of 4th period next Monday. Remakes will be taken Tuesday morning, 10/21, 8-9:30 a.m.

October 9 Announcement

  1. Flu vaccine forms are due Tuesday. Please submit only the signed application; the information should remain with parents.

 

  1. Please note the 7th grade DC informational meeting has been postponed until Tuesday, October 28, 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. The trip is planned for May 15-19 and will cost approximately $1,200.

 

  1. There is no school Monday, October 13, due to the teacher work/professional development day.

 

  1. Tomorrow is the last day to show your generosity by making a food donation to benefit Manna Ministries and OM Missions. We’re 1000 cans short of our goal, so please consider a donation. The grade level class with the most spirit will be treated to a pizza party from Phase I!

 

  1. Photo proofs from September 10 are being distributed today in 8th period. Please take home and return orders only by October 21 to the front office.

October 8 Announcement

  1. Congratulations to our 7th grade Scholars Bowl team who defeated Pizitz yesterday!

 

  1. All current NJHS members who still would like to sign up to volunteer at the OMES Fall Fun Fest scheduled for Saturday, October 18th should come to B-7 DURING ADVISORY; not between classes. The deadline is tomorrow. Please check in with your 8th period teacher for attendance and then permission.

 

  1. FBLA members are reminded you’ll meet in C-5 after checking in with your 8th period teacher for attendance.

 

  1. Sixth grade White team students should remind parents that any medication needed for PAL must be brought in by an adult by tomorrow. Over-the-counter meds must be age appropriate and brought in an unopened and unexpired container.

 

  1. Girls, ages 5 – 12, who are interested in attending a one day dance camp with the OMHS Starlettes on November 1, should pick up a form in the front office.

 

  1. 7th graders staying for math team try-outs are to report to C-4 at dismissal. Parents are to pick up promptly at 4:15 p.m. in the front of the school.

October 3 Announcement

  1. FBLA members are reminded permission forms and fees are now past due. Absolute last day to turn-in permission forms is Monday. Failure to turn-in signed forms will remove you from the club. Fees should be paid no later than next Friday. Speeches for officer elections are due no later than Tuesday. See blog for details.

 

  1. Be on the lookout for the “Who Bought Yearbook List” soon to be hung in the cafeteria. If you do not see your name you have not purchased a yearbook. Yearbooks can be preordered beginning Monday, Oct. 6th. Checks should be made payable to OMMS for $38 and include your name on the check.  Please deliver to front office or C-5. A layaway option is also available – $20 now and $20 by the end of April.   Deadline to preorder a yearbook will be December 5th.

 

  1. When appropriate, our SGA invites you to check the OMMS SGA Instagram account. Follow “OMMSSGA” to see pics from school events like yesterday’s pep rally!

                J             Congratulations to the 8th grade volleyball team for their victory over Bumpus yesterday!

 

Our volleyball teams finished their regular season with an 8-3 record going into the metro tournament this weekend. The 7th grade Lady Eagles will be competing in the Metro Tournament at Simmons Middle School beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and the 8th grade Lady Eagles will be at Liberty Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with competition continuing on Saturday. Please come out and support your Lady Eagles in the final tournament of the season.

                >              Girls trying out for basketball are reminded physicals are due tomorrow to Coach Noel.
