ARMT+

We are gearing up for the ARMT+ the week of April 9th. I am confident that our students will put forth their best effort on these tests. Our teachers have worked so hard in preparing the students. Please encourage your children to get a good night’s rest, and eat a good breakfast each morning.

HMS will be involved with State Testing from April 9th-13th. Our students will be taking the new ARMT+ in Math and Reading. Our 7th graders will be taking the ARMT+ Science on April 13th. Parents, please help us with the following:

* Please stress to your children the importance of doing their best on the test.

* Please see that they get a good night sleep each night and a good breakfast each morning.

* Please plan any appointments that week for after 12:00PM.

This group of special educators received the “The Extra Mile” Award from Dr. Lewis Brooks for going above and beyond the Call of Duty. So proud of the teachers at HMS.

The 8th grade band received superior ratings in stage performance and sight reading at the Alabama State Music Performance Assessment. The 7th grade band recieved superior ratings in sight reading. Way to go band!!

Our HMS baseball, softball, tennis, track, soccer, and golf teams are underway. The kids have been working hard in preparation for the season. Good Luck to all of our Panthers!!

Ground leveling has begun on our new Helena High School. Just wanted to let our parents know to expect delays on Hillsboro Parkway during this process.

Our 8th grade team finished 3rd in the recent Shelby County tournament. Good job boys and girls.

Come out and support our HMS winter and spring sports teams on Thursday. The Pep rally will begin at 6:30 in the gym. The coaches and players have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming season. See you there.

Our kids are excited about the upcoming Christmas Dance on Friday. Parents, please help me with keeping the students in dress code.

You missed a treat if you missed these two shows. So proud of our band and choir kids. The long rehearsals have paid off. Kudos to Mr. Pruitt and Mr. Andrews.
