The Cay by Theodore Taylor

Like sharks the U-boats appeared over night. What could this mean, would he and his mother survive to another day? With a fantastic opening, The Cays with Connections reels you in and feeds your mind. While on his way to America, Phillip’s ship crashes leaving him stranded on a raft with Timothy, an old Jamaican man. The sun blinding Phillip on his way to the cay made his journey especially hard. Two go on the cay, one leaves. Who will survive? This book shows the hardship two people must go through to survive. With cliff-hangers ending each and every chapter, you won’t want to stop until the end. I would recommend this book to children ages eleven and up. Fast moving and short, boys may enjoy this book particularly. Review submitted by Alex.
