Teachers Earn Mini-Grants from Dollars for Scholar’s Program

The Greater Shelby County Schools Education Foundation recently awarded two mini-grants to local teachers in Shelby County through the Dollars for Scholars program.  The Dollars for Scholars program is designed for employees of the Shelby County School District to be able to donate to the Education Foundation through monthly payroll deductions.  This year, the Education Foundation’s Board of Directors elected to approve mini-grants in the amount of $250 to be awarded to an employee each month.  The mini-grant can be used for anything the teacher needs for his/her classroom or department.  The winners for November and December were Nancy Stroup, Chelsea High School, and Jennifer Gonzalez, Pelham High School.
