Shelby County Students Win All-American Honors in Track

Two Shelby County students recently participated in the New Balance National Indoor Meet, held March 15-16 in New York City.  The event was sponsored by New Balance, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation, and the Armory Foundation.  The event was held at the Armory Foundation Indoor Track, considered to be one of premiere indoor track facilities in the country.

Caitland Smith, Pelham High School, placed third in the nation in the 60 meter dash and earned the title of All-American. 

Randall Ceneus, Oak Mountain High School, competed in the 400 meter dash, placing fifth in the nation.  Ceneus also earned the title of All-American.
