The Linda Nolen Learning Center will be hosting Open House/Parenting Day in conjunction with the Art from the Heart Festival, on October 14. The festivities will begin at 8:00 a.m. There will be numerous Community Resource Agencies available for parents to visit with from 8:00-10:00 a.m., focusing on “Transition Services” for special needs children. The Art Festival will start at 9:00 a.m. with the students touring from each station preparing artwork. The festival also include hot dogs and local band “Festival Expressions” will perform.

Community Resource Agencies include: Children Rehab Services, Full Life Ahead, Intellectual Disabilities Waiver, Vocational Rehabilitation, The ARC of Shelby County, Lakeshore Foundation, People First of Alabama, Disability Rights and Resources, Social Security Administration, Chara, Aaron Staff, United Cerebral Palsy, and CRS Social Workers and Teen Transition Specialists.
