Vincent Middle High School Celebrates Hispanic Culture

HDD   HDD2   HDD3

The students at Vincent Middle High School recently had an opportunity to participate in a Hispanic Cultural Celebration.  In honor of Hispanic heritage month, Ms. Tracy Lee, Spanish teacher, and her students planned a day of cross curricular activities for the students.

The day began with a survey of the the student’s prior knowledge of Hispanic culture.  The students then received “classroom” passports to visit classrooms that were set up as countries relative to the Hispanic culture.  Students were able to tour the classrooms and see displays, hear music, taste food, and learn facts all lead and produced by Spanish II and Spanish III students.  Spanish students also rehearsed and performed authentic dance routines and instrumental music. The day ended with a guest speaker and a written reflection culminating the day’s events.
