Christmas Is Almost Here!

It is hard to believe that Christmas is almost here!

Everyone is invited to our Christmas party on Thursday, December 19th at 12:45.  We will do a craft, play a game and have a yummy, Christmas snack.  We will also have a book swap.  Please remember to send in your wrapped, gender neutural paperback by Wednesday, December 18th.  December 19th is also Polar Express Day.  Don’t forget to send your child in cozy pajamas!  Slippers and robes are fine to wear.  Please remember to send tennis shoes for P.E.

Cocoa and Carols will be in our room on Friday, December 20th at 8:45.  Again, everyone is welcome.  Come and here a few songs of the season to get you in the Christmas spirit.  We will have cocoa and donughts for breakfast.  Don’t forget that we will dismiss at 1:00 on Friday the 20th!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful, joyous and safe Holiday Season!

Welcome Back!

We have had an amazing two weeks of first grade!  I could not have asked for a sweeter, smarter group of boys and girls!  We have had a great time getting to know one another while we shared our special bags of three things, played and sang songs, worked with partners during reading and math centers, and made new friends at recess! The boys and girls have done a fantastic job adjusting to our school routine in such a short time!  I am so proud of everyone!

If you would like to have lunch with us, we would love to have you. Do not wait until after Parent Night.  Please do not feel that you have to let me know you are coming to lunch unless you would like to.  If you do, just  write me a note in your child’s Flashpad.  After signing in at the office, please meet us at the stage in the lunchroom.  Once we have finished with lunch, please say your good-byes as we leave the lunchroom to go to recess.

Please make sure you have made appropriate arrangements (i.e., sitter) for Parent Night on September 12.  This night is for parents only.  We will review curriculum, progress reports, report cards, homework, our class behavior plan, rewards, class parties, volunteers, I’ll introduce our Room Mom, field trips, birthdays, Fun Fridays, STARFish of the Week, our blog and more.

Summer Is Here!

I cannot begin to thank each and every one of you for a wonderful 2012-2013 school year!  I hope that everyone has a fun and safe summer and you take time to make as many memories as you possibly can.  Please come by and see me in August.  I want to hear all about your summer!
