Friday is Field Day!

As Field Day approaches, here are some important reminders for all students participating in this fun day:

–Wear tennis shoes… no flip flops, crocs, sandals, boots, etc.
–Dress comfortably… a t-shirt, shorts and a hat would be great.
–Bring a water bottle and make sure your name is on it
–Hats are OK for field day, but leave sunglasses at home as they can break easily during some of our activities.
–2nd and 3rd graders can bring blankets or towels to sit on for their field day event. (K & 1st grade rotate to different stations making keeping up with towels difficult… no need for anything to sit on.)
–If a student needs sunscreen, please make sure to apply it before arriving at school.

We’re looking forward to another exciting Field Day this year at CES!

Welcome to the new CES PE Blog!

This is the new home for all things physical education at Calera Elementary School. Mrs. Nash and I will be updating the blog as we continue planning exciting, new things for the 2012-2013 school year.

In the meantime, visit some of the “Cool Websites” listed on the right side of the blog. There you will find some helpful and educational websites devoted to health, nutrition, and fitness. Especially valuable is the link for the President’s Challenge… several of the events in the new 2012-2013 Alabama Fitness Assessment come straight from the Presidential Fitness Test.

Visit again soon!
