My name is Ashley Grainger and I am very excited to be the new Media Specialist at Chelsea Park Elementary.
I grew up in Piedmont in Northeast Alabama where I graduated from Piedmont High School in 1997. I then completed a Bachelor degree from Jacksonville State University in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Merchandising. After a few years as a Retail Buyer I decided retail was not for me.
I returned to school to teach and taught Family and Consumer Science at Springville High School. I had the wonderful opportunity of educating students there for eight great years. After completing my Masters degree in Library Science I was a Media Specialist at Hueytown High school. After teaching at Hueytown for a year, I was offered my job at Chelsea Middle School.
My husband of ten years and I have a son in fifth grade at Forest Oaks Elementary and a five year old daughter in Kindergartner here at Chelsea Park. We have lived in Chelsea for twelve years and we love this community. I am so excited to have the opportunity to give back and enhance the future of the Chelsea community.
