Reading and English classes are working on research index cards. 

Students were given several opportunities before and after our break to

check out a non-fiction book to use as their research source.  Students were

given written, illustrated  instructions as to how to make a source card and

how to make a fact card.  The cards are due on 1/22.

  The next two steps in our  research project will be completed after the

index cards are graded. 

The end products for the English classes and the reading classes are different. 

However, students  who are in both of my classes  need complete only one set

of cards.

Reading: We are studying drama over the next 2 weeks.  We will have a test next

Friday, January 17 on Drama and the vocabulary sheets with Word list A and

Word List B and the Big Q song.  We will read a play  and critique whose subjects

are Charlie Brown as well as other dramas.  Students should review

pages 941, 999, 953 and 930 and all handouts in preparation for next week’s test.

 

English:  In English we are studying vocabulary from a sheet given on Monday

and Adjectives and Adverbs.  Our Adjective and Adverb quiz will be on Monday

and our Vocabulary test will be on Friday.  This week, our vocabulary words are

the same for both classes.
