I know you may not all agree, but for me your first semester of middle school has flown by. I am so thankful to be teaching such kind, intelligent and creative children. I am grateful for the overwhelming support of my Helena parents as we development the reading and writing skills of our students.

<strong>The 2nd independent reading project, which reviews literary elements studied this year, is due THIS TUESDAY
In class on Monday we will read a brief non-fiction history of the Delta Blues and begin reading “Jeremiah’s Song” which students will finish for homework.
Reading project must be finished.
In class on Tuesday we will analyze “Jeremiah’s Song” for plot structure, author’s influence , point of view, characterization and theme. For homework you should read 956 & 957 and then complete the answers on loose leaf to be turned in. PUT YOUR LAST AND FIRST NAME ON YOUR PAPER.
In class on Wednesday we will review connotation, denotations, correlating and subordinating conjunctions
For homework students should complete in grammar workbook pages 115, 117 and 119
On Thursday and Friday we will be working on reading comprehension and test taking skills in a review of the skills covered this semester. Students will finish for homework any classwork not completed.
