Sheriff’s Deputy David Morrow received the Medal of Valor for his response when a gunman held five students hostage at Chelsea Middle School in February. Curry commended Morrow’s actions, as well as those of Chelsea Middle School Principal Bill Harper, during the tense situation that resulted in the arrest of Ryan Matthew Sims, 21, without any students being injured.
