Usborne Books and More Reading Challenge

Parents and Students,
Chelsea Middle School is participating in an Usborne Books and More Reading Challenge during the next reading log dates. These dates vary, so see your English teacher about when your Reading Challenge is. We are challenging students to read an extra 100 minutes on their next reading log. They will also ask family and friends for pledges per minute or one flat donation. The students will then meet the challenged number of minutes and record that time on their reading logs. All checks should be made payable to CHMS. Students will then get to use 50% of the money raised to purchase books for themselves or as gifts for others. English teachers will use 50% of the money raised to purchase books for the classroom. Please encourage your students to read and gather pledges. In addition, the following prizes will be awarded.

Prizes
• Class period with most pledges earns a pizza party
• Usborne Books and More will contribute $50 in books for each classroom with at least $600 in pledges.
• For every $25 in pledges a student collects, he/she will be entered into a drawing for a prize TBA.
• Gift card (Yogurt Your Way) for every $100 a student collects in pledges.
• $100 club–ice cream sundae party for all of the $100 earners, plus each $100 earner put into a drawing for a Nook (or Kindle).
