February 14 – Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 2/14/14

Students who were assigned After School Dentention (ASD) and were not able to attend due to the weather, will be re-assigned ASD for Tuesday, February 18.

Beta Club OFFICERS will meet on Monday morning at 7:15 in Mrs. Sheehan’s trailer to run through the Induction Ceremony. Any Beta Club member that is bringing items for the Induction Ceremony should bring them to Mrs. Shaw’s room on Tuesday morning. If you have any questions, please message Mrs. Sheehan via Edmodo.

Congratulations to Elisa Britton for winning first place in the State Superintendent’s Art Show. We are extremely proud of her. She was the only student in Shelby County to place with her stunning photograph. She had previously won first place at the Shelby County Art show as well. The winning artwork will be displayed at Central Office for 2 weeks prior to the March board meeting.

Tryouts for the Starlets Dance Team and Majorettes will be April 28th through May 2nd this year. There have been some changes to the tryout requirements and girls in 6th and 7th grades are invited to a meeting/demonstration after school on February 27th 3-4:30 for further explanation and demonstration of all requirements. We encourage anyone who has any interest in dance/twirling to attend the meeting so you will know what to work on between now and April 28th. No experience is necessary to tryout, but you may want to work on these skills between now and tryouts to help your chances. The Starlets will also be hosting skills clinics on March 15th and April 12th for anyone to attend and receive instruction and practice time. Forms will be available for the skills clinics from Coach Nivens, Coach Burdette or the Starlets blog at the first of each month.

Coupon Book sales will continue until Feb 25. Students can earn prizes as well as open seating lunch passes to sit anywhere you want. Also, if you sell 5 or more books, you will receive a year- long open seating pass! Good Luck and Happy Selling!

7th and 8th graders start making your plans for the Valentine’s Dance on Feb. 21. Tickets will go on sale February 17th. Tickets are $8 before the dance or $10 at the door. Pizza, soda, and a cookie can be bought at the dance for $3. Photo booth pictures will be $1 each. The attire is semi-formal.

Miss CHMS Pageant and Little Miss Chelsea Pageant will be on March 8th in the middle school gym.

If you would like to order one of the new ChMS tee shirts, stop by the office and pick up an order form.

Remember to bring in your “Box Tops for Education”. This helps to raise money for our school. Turn your box tops in to your Math teacher. If you turn in 50 box tops, you will receive a pass to sit where want to during lunch.

Tryouts for Golf are NEXT WEEK!
