ANNOUNCEMENTS: 2/11/15

This morning through 3rd period, a group of students will be taking a NAEP test at the end of the 7th grade hall in rooms 1, 2, 3, and 4. Students will be dismissed for testing by an announcement around 8 am. The bells will be off and you will need to move quietly between classes while in the 7th grade hall. If your locker is located between those classes you will not be able to use it until the end of 3rd period. If you have Ms. Risher, 2nd or 4th periods, you will be meeting in her 6th grade art room. Mr. Laseter’s 3rd per class should report to Mr. Haley’s room today – room 35 on the 8th gr hall

Bob practice will be Thursday afternoon (2/12), after school

8th grade girls interested in trying out for high school volleyball need to make sure they have a few dates available this summer for MANDATORY camp events. Please reserve July 9, 10, 11 for camp and if you happen to make varsity, reserve August 1 and 8 for a play date. If you have any conflicts with these dates, please do your best to re-schedule now. We are giving plenty of notice so everyone can attend.
Girls interested in playing volleyball at the YMCA can go on-line to register for a 13-15 yr old team which begins playing Feb. 23.

Students: Our coupon book sale ends Feb 18th. Lots of great rewards available for selling! Please help make this fundraiser a success!

If you are interested in trying out for golf, please see Mrs. Frye (room 30) as soon as possible to sign up. Tryouts will be at the school on Thursday, February 12, after school from 3-4:30. You must have a physical. Bring your own golf clubs and drop them off in Mrs. Frye’s classroom before school on Thursday, February 12.

There will be a Beta Club meeting today during 5th period in the choir room on the 6th grade hall. Beta Club members should check in with their GPS teachers for attendance and then report to the choir room – 7th grade members, bring your lunch with you.

The Miss ChMS Pageant will be held Saturday, February 21. All interested girls need to pick up an information and registration packet from either Mrs. Moody or the front office. Deadline for registration is Friday, February 13.

FBLA will be selling Yummy Heart lollipops for Valentine’s Day until Friday, Feb. 13th. They will be $1 each or 5 for $4. Purchase them for your friends, teachers or that special someone. They will be delivered on the 13th during 8th period. You may purchase them in room 39 from Mrs. J. Cook.

Remember to collect money for “Pennies for Patients” to help kids with leukemia. Fill your boxes with spare change or cash and turn them in by February 20.

The Valentine’s Dance is this Friday from 7:00-9:00. Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 if you buy them early. You can purchase tickets from Mrs. Finch, Mrs. Elliott, or Ms. Houston during GPS. Dress code is semi-formal.
