8th Grade Parents:
9th grade registration for next year is this week. There will be a Freshmen Parent Registration Meeting today, Monday, Jan 23, at 6pm at the Chelsea High School auditorium. The 9th grade counselor will also be here at the middle school on Wednesday, Jan 25 from 8-10am and 12-2pm to answer questions from parents and students. Registration forms were given out Monday in your child’s English class, and they are due back to the counselors on Thursday, Jan 26. If you have any questions for the high school counselor, please email the 9th grade counselor Ms. Delaine at kdelaine@shelbyed.org.
6th Grade Blue Valentine Dance
* Thursday February 9 from 3:30-5:30
* Attire is Dressy Casual. Students will go to the dance directly after school, so they will need to wear their dance attire to school- Dress Code Applies!
* Examples- Blue, Black, White, etc
* Girls- Dresses, Tunics with Leggings
* Boys- Khaki’s, button up shirt, bow tie
ALL MUST BE IN DRESS CODE
* Tickets will be $10 and will go on sale starting February 1st. Tickets can be purchased during lunch or in Mrs. Brown’s room
* There will be a photographer available at the dance for pictures. Picture order forms will be sent home February 1st from their 6th period teacher. All forms will be due back as soon as possible, but no later than February 8th.
* Concessions will be sold.

These are 2 upcoming meetings for parents to learn more about course selection before students make their choices for the classes they need/want to take for the 2017-2018 school year. Please add these to your calendars.
January 23, 2017, 6pm at Chelsea High School – for parents of current 8th graders (rising 9th graders)
January 26, 2017, 6pm at Chelsea Middle School – for parents of current 6th and 7th graders (rising 7th and 8th graders)
“Golf Tryouts & Info: Tryouts will be next Monday (1/30) at Heatherwood Hills golf course. Tryouts will begin directly at 3:45 and will end a little after 5. No parents or tutors/coaches will be allowed with the kids during the tryout period. The roster will be posted on a blog later that evening. This info will be given to the kids that day. A parent meeting will take place the following afternoon at 6 for all those that make the team. This meeting will be in the ChMS library. All students interested in trying out for golf need to sign up with Coach Butler. Students must have a current physical and All-in-One form on file.
