Announcements – August 31

Due to continued interest, sign ups for baseball tryouts have been reopened through September 4th. Please sign up in Coach Billingsley’s classroom on the 7th grade hall or email him at cbillingsley@shelbyed.org and state that you want to sign up. Please note, an unexpired physical and a current all-in-one form must be turned in and on file by September 5th. No exceptions will be made regarding the required physical and all-in-one form.

FBLA membership dues need to be turned in by Friday 9/7. FBLA members interested in attending district workshop on 9/18 see Google classroom for field trip info.

Any 7th or 8th grader interested in Art Club needs to pick up an informational form outside of the art room. The first meeting is next Thursday, Sept 6

Interested in learning about world issues? See yourself as a leader? If the answer is yes, apply to Junior United Nations of Alabama (JUNA). Use the Google Classroom code s79r942 to join, learn more about the team, and fill out the application. Flyers with code information are in the hallways. Applications are due by 5:00 on Wednesday, September 5. Contact Ms. Wigley or Mrs. Caiola for more information.

6th, 7th, or 8th grade students interested in learning to play a fast-paced game with buzzers and trivia questions from a variety of topics including math, science, sports, music, literature, mythology, current events and more should try-out for Scholar’s Bowl after school on September 11th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Students who are invited to be on the team will travel in the Birmingham Metro League against Berry, Vestavia, Liberty Park, Pizitz and more before going head-to-head against every middle school in Shelby County in February.

8th graders–if you’re interested in trying out for Scholars bowl, please sign up outside Mr. Marino’s and Mr. Haley’s doors

All students interested in trying out for tennis should turn in their paperwork to Coach Green by FRIDAY, SEPT 7

Flu shots will be given at school for students on Oct 17, 2018. Forms will come home as soon as we have them. YOUR STUDENT WILL HAVE TO HAVE A COMPLETED FORM WITH SIGNATURE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FLU SHOT CLINIC AT SCHOOL. Please contact school nurse if you have any questions.
