In-School Athletic Physicals: Our annual in-school physicals will take place on January 4 at Chelsea High School. Any current ChMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grader that is interested or needing to complete their physical examination to participate in athletics for the remainder of this school year into next school year can participate in this. Students need to pick up a blank physical form in PE. They should return that form with the front page completed completely and legibly along with $10 to physical Coach Butler. We will bus students over to the high school on January 4 to complete the back portion of the form which is done by a doctor. Email h2butler@shelbyed.org with any questions. No refunds will be given if your child is unable to attend. Last day to turn in the form will be January 3rd.
The Winter Dance is this Friday. 7th grade time is 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and 8th grade is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be sold during lunch.
Students please check your email to see if you owe any overdue items to the library and return them as soon as possible.
Beta Club will meet in Mr. Stafford’s Room (Rm 30) this Friday at 7:20 a.m.
Middle School Band Concert will be December 6 in the Chelsea High School Auditorium. We accept nonperishable food items as “admission” to support our hometown Heavenly Smiles Food Pantry.

FBLA is making care baskets for the parents of babies in NICU. Drop off bins are located in the workroom by the main office and in Mrs. Smith’s room in the 6th grade building.
Miss Merry Christmas Pageant will be Saturday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the ChMS cafeteria. See Mrs. Nivens’ blog for a link to the pageant page for details and to sign up.
Our Physical Education department will be teaming up with the American Heart Association to host our American Heart Challenge again this year. We will be raising donations to give to the AHA. Last year we raised $2,815.00 & our goal this year is $3,000. On the week of 12/10 we will have our big events. This year students will be able to participate in a 3 on 3 tournament, Hot Shot, Half Court, Hot Shot Glow, & Half Court Glow events. We will also have our Heart Wall and students can purchase a heart for $1. They can put their name on the heart or a family member’s name that has dealt with heart problems.
