fourth nine weeks – wow, here so soon…
“(gender) testing” – book on the olympics’ efforts to test women as women – since 1924, they’ve had some type of system in place – really found the book fascinating – lots of science and track and field stuff
“relational children’s ministry” – great book – about how to reach children with God’s Word – the characteristics of a ministry were interesting to compare to what goes on with the church I serve with – I was heartened that third grade boys are tough on everyone – not just me:) i also found a great verse from 3 john i hope to use sometime
“an uncomplicated life” – biography of a down syndrome lady – now 24 – one of the many lessons in the book is that none of us are guaranteed the perfect anything – most parents elect to abort down syndrome children now – b/c they want a “perfect” baby – it’s sort of ridiculous that we set that standard – and tragic – so the book reminded me of why every life is precious – and valuable

My Book Report ON The 5th Wave
The 5th wave is a very interesting book. It isn’t interesting in a good or bad way it’s just a weird book. Its got a very bad plot to where you dont know whats going on. Also the characters change way too much and it’s not related to anything. The books comes together at the end but it’s all a frustrating three fourths of the book.
The book is weird because in the middle Cassie is talking about how ben parrish died. Then in the next few chapters Ben comes back and finds Sammy. Sammy was taken to a place called Camp Haven and he was told it was going to be heaven. They ended up working with the aliens, all of them even Cassie. In the beginning of the book cassie got shot by a silencer as she likes to call them. She passed out because she almost froze to death but someone came and rescued her.
What contributes to the weirdness is the plot. In the beginning Cassie kills someone but in the next section on the book it’s a different character. The plot of the book changes and you dont know whats happening because you still think it’s cassie, because it never gave a change of character. The same thing happens over and over again. When it starts getting not boring with the character it changes.
After all of that goes on the book finally starts to make since and you wonder why couldn’t the author just start with this. Instead of him ending the book the right way he is making a sequel which is probably gonna be just as bad or even worse than this one.I would not recommend this book to anyone because it is a terrible read. It can be very annoying and it doesn’t make very much since.
