The Adventures of Ryder and Mr. Self: The Canned Food Drive
Gifted in Space: The Mannequin Challenge
catching up on book reading…
“thunder and lightning” – got it for the classroom – available on special request – great science book – about the weather that we have – and are going to have – i love forecasting – the challenge of it – and hearing about the power of weather – so this was a great book – plus, the author can draw
“undefeated: jim thorpe” – great YA read – from the BOB title “bomb” from last year – a non-fiction book about carsile football – and jim thorpe – and how for a brief bit, a small pennsylvania college/high school ruled college football – i would’ve loved that book in jr high and high school
“first year” – learned about first year babies – part of my job as uncle – basically, it’s a miracle any of them survive:)
“there i go again” – MR FEENEY!!! from boy/girl meets world – william daniels – who was a great broadway actor prior to entering my life in the 1990s – and a great tv actor (st elsewhere) – insightful read – he’s almost 90 years old now – and the abuse he went through as a child actor – great book for gifted kids
“of goats and governors” – history of alabama politics – my mom wanted to read the book – and she read it so quickly i got to read it too – shelby county tie-ins – it was interesting – it was definitely slanted though – and the knocks against the press were just wrong b/c if there weren’t media checks, there’s no telling how much more corruption we’d have in this state…
“the first thanksgiving” – just in time for the day – great, great book about the pilgrims – and how to reconcile thanksgiving with them – basically, they’d be horrified to learn what we’ve done – the author has good insight on how to read history – i honestly would’ve loved a copy to read to the class – good book on many levels
