so i was at the sec tournament final today – i saw fans of all teams – i had to wait until nearly the end for mizzou – uga was hard – so was vandy (billy) – but the one i missed??? yep, a&m
“the closer” – to cap the school year and to prepare for baseball – and b/c it was shockingly in at the library when they had said it wasn’t (most important part of this), i read a book about the yankees’ now retired closer, mariano rivera – rivera is a great example of the case that if you do the right things enough times, things will break your way – he came up from absolutely nothing and became perhaps the most dominate pitcher of his era – in his words, by God’s graces and blessings – it’s the rare athlete that believes this – most attribute their abilities to their work ethic – or skill – rivera just admits God was with him
this being summertime, i’m now working on my musicals – “joseph and the technicolor dreamcoat” is pretty awesome so far – go, go jo indeed:)

yeah, my bad on all the firsts – too busy watching baseball at my parents – and then i left and finished “joseph” – which is now my all-time favorite musical

your current role to start the book will be as camp counselor to the sixth grade – it’s where you’ll meet nicole – and lose the ring – but become a wonderful sidekick – sort of like tonto – or silver – yeah, a horse – you’d be a good horse sidekick:)
A lot of thing can’t happen without a good animal sidekick! š Take Frozen and Tangled and Cinderella… Sidekicks are good. So are butler/puppeteer/detective sidekicks. I can’t wait to read next year’s story.

Hi Mr Mayfield I finished the book you lent me on Saturday. I’m getting my parents to mail it to you. I can see why it’s one of your favorites. I loved the romance mixed with mystery and adventure, I didn’t even notice the vocabulary wodrs until I read the dictionary at the end of the book. It was funny, Alexa had so many unlikely friends, like Charlotte she seemed to be one of those mean popular girls who never would talk to Alexa. But she saved Jose and became a really great friend. Hope the book finds it’s way back to you!

billy – i had the same problem with baseball back in 95/96 – i actually drove to tuscaloosa with my grandfather for one – we made it a day – it was one of the last road trips i took with my granddad – was a special day (i mean, it has to be for me to remember it even today:)
Going for 2 championships in 1 week. Too bad our baseball team stinks
i dunno billy – baseball america really, really likes georgia southern’s ace to upset FSU – which i guess means kennesaw state wins the regional
my greatest lament was that south alabama played awful at regionals when i was there – we were No. 1 seeds both years – and it didn’t matter b/c the team just fell apart – of course, they’ve never been as good since
